About
H.H. Brown
H.H.
Brown's roots go back to 1883, when Henry H. Brown began handcrafting
comfortable, durable footwear in Natick, Massachusetts. Over the
years, customers and construction methods have changed. H.H. Brown
has changed with them. Our adaptability has helped us thrive.
H.H.
Brown manufactures and distributes premier work shoes and boots,
rugged recreational footwear and comfort casual shoes for men
and women. In an age when most American shoe companies have declined,
H.H. Brown has grown. The secret? Offer people what they need,
at a fair price. Sounds easy, right?
In
truth, we work very hard to create ever-better footwear for increasingly
demanding conditions. Part of that effort goes into developing
new materials that outperform the competition. The Dryz® Moisture
Management system is one such technology.
Improved
assembly methods also contribute to the H.H. Brown advantage.
Opanka construction, for example, is a hand-assembly method that
goes back many years, but we've developed ways to do it affordably.
That innovation makes a big difference to the comfort of our customers.
A
steady hand on the tiller
Our
corporate culture embraces change when it comes to new technologies
and consumer needs. But we've been able to stay true to our ideals
through old-fashioned constancy in the head office. Since 1927,
H.H. Brown has changed its chairman of the board only twice!
H.H.
Brown Inc. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway
in 1991.
With
our ongoing development of designs, improved construction processes
and commitment to leading-edge technology, we look forward to
walking with our customers for years to come.
